The Olympic History:
In July 2012, London will once again host the Olympic Games. As the first country to feature an opening ceremony in 1908, to being the first country to broadcast the Olympic Games on home televisions in 1948; there is no doubt that during the summer of 2012 London will amaze once again. Athletes will be the first to set records using state of the art facilities, and visitors will have the opportunity to experience some of the world’s finest accommodations including 6 Starwood Hotels, 2 of which are conveniently located at Heathrow Airport, and 4 at the heart of Central London, only moments away from some of the major Olympic events.
The Olympics in London:
The Olympic Park will be the main focus during the 2012 London Games featuring 26 Olympic sports in 34 venues. With up to 180,000 spectators a day travelling to the Olympic Park to enjoy the Games, the park will be designed to ensure that visitors always feel part of the Games. A central unifying concourse will carry spectators and competitors over the roads, waterways and rail lines that cross the site. So whether you are watching, strolling along the river edge or sitting in front of one of the big screens relaying live competitions, the Olympics games will unfold right in front of your eyes.
